Why also not in a team as a Cosmonaut?

You have now the possibility to learn with your team at the Yuri A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre, located at Star City at Moscow region in a 5 day program what does it mean, to go an a completely special mission: a flight to the stars!

Experience under guidance of the original crew coaches of the GCTC, who trains the international professionals of the crews, who will fly to the International Space Station ISS, what does it mean, "how to be a Cosmonaut". Sit with a partner in the Soyuz spaceship. The displays before you flash and show you the course, which you hit. Your task: To dock with your space craft at the International Space Station ISS. Not with the help of a computer like under normal conditions, only by your own hand.

You sit in your special suit (Sokol pressure suit) in the bowl seat, the flight control in the hand and you steer the Soyuz spaceship. On the screen in front of you, the computer indicates your optimal flight attitude and flight course. You approach ever further on. Still 500 meters, still 400 meters. You ignite the braking rockets, so that your speed (those at present approx. 28.000 kilometers per hour) will be on a velicity to brake on 3 metres per second. Not a simple venture, to hold course. You are in the universe!

Experience rescue measures, if a Soyuz did not go down in the foreseen landing area, but in the water. You must leave the capsule, so that the helicopter can latch you at a long rope and pulls up. This maneuver calls one "elevator to the helicopter training", and you will perform this mission in the Hydrolab at the GCTC, where also astronauts and cosmonauts were trained for so called EVA's (Extra vehicular activities), to fly free in space with the Russian Orlan DMA spacesuit.

After these days you are welded in the team. Because only in the team you can begin the flight to the stars. All must be able to know all the facts of each other, to have a successfully flight to the stars.
