Now it is also possible to coach controlling a fighter jet, finally, in the next nearness of Germany. We are particularly glad to be able to introduce to you this unique event which can end with the flight in an English BAC Jet-Provost 'MK-5.
After you arriving from Germany (or other country) in England, you are picked up by our team at airport Standsted. From the airport the airbase not far away to your destination, the North Weald Airfield in Essex.
This airport belongs to a few airfields of England, which has got over the battle around England in the second world war. Here you find application buildings, airplanes, hangars, bunkers and a lot of more. Many historical airplanes which are even today in operation have here their home base as for example the knowing Aviation Hawker Hunter F-6 fighter-bomber, DeHavilland Venom, Folland Gnates and former airplanes of the Eastern bloc states, like the Aero L-29, Aero L-39 Abatross and the Soko GA-2 Galeb.
If you are interested in the historical aviation, North Weald offers an optimum location all around the historical story.
After a guidance on the airbase you will dressed up in the crew-room of Swords Aviation, the partner in England, because, in the end, you are not only on a historical exploratory expedition, you want to control the abilities and skills to fly a fighter jet independently. First of all your instructor brings you in the 'Squadron' where you can take a refreshment to yourselves and also you will have the opportunity to talk to the 'old hares' of the aviation and listen to stories which will allow to beat faster your airman's heart.
After the lunch it starts: You will have the first contact with your instructors, experienced combat pilots and instructores who are active partially still at the side of the Royal Airforce. You will recieve your equipment like the flight overall, the helmet, the oxygen mask and the rescue kit.
The instructors will explain at the beginning of the theoretical instruction every detail, because, in the end, you must control these pieces of equipment as well as know. To form the lessons even better you receive a training catalog of the Royal Airforce and a flight manual.
Then you will have a lesson about theoretical bases of the jet aviation. The technology is explained to you, as well as the aerodynamics and the jet-engine. You get insights into the flight medicine and physiology of a person during a flight; and the history of the flown fighter jet-types (JP4 and JP5).
You will take part in the bases of a mission briefing in which the planning of the flight with the components weather, air traffic control is on the program as well as the expiry of the flight manoeuvre. The typical expiry of an air fight will be explained to you, you receive insights into the geotypical occurences in the training area (deep flight, regulations, airspace structures and the rules in the flight area).
After this installation it goes on the approach where you receive the bases of the behavior on the flight working area as well as on the approach, and afterwards also you know which one should not stay directly behind a ray airplane.
Then it goes in the preserves: If you have decided to take part in the free flight with the jet airplane, you must fulfil a test, while you prove that you can handle the control and the emergency equipment.
They must know how you have to behave if necessary, and in addition the installation also belongs in the catapult seat 'Martin Baker'. Should you not control these bases, you cannot take part in the flight. The instructors take this obligatory act very exactly, because it is worth definitively: 'Safety first!'.
After you allowed to go out the test with practical exercises about yourselves and have also passed it, it becomes serious now: 'Your' jet in which you can exercise the before learned in form of a preflight checking directly stands on the plan already. After you have checked the jet plan together with your pilot, take a seat beside your instructor in the cockpit 'MK-5'. You must fasten the seatbelt, and after everything is protected and your feelings are good, your pilot start after the occasion release the engine and roll to the takeoff point at the the runway.
90% of power, brakes on, temperature good, oil pressure good, rpm good - cleared off for take out of vision ... and it goes on. You will accelerate with 2.450 lbs thrust in the shortest time and you take off at a still leisurely speed of 90 knots (approx. 168 km/h). Then the chassis is run and the speed is raised.
90 degrees of curve brings you with 250 knots (approx. 465 km/h) in the training area located at the east coast of England. Here is a barred military flying range where you graduate from your farther program which takes place of course only after your condition: Simple figures become flown like roles or steep turns, followed from advanced aerobatics like loopings, stable turns or barrel rolls. If you still feel good afterwards, your pilot will hand over the joystick for some minutes, you steer for the first time the jet completely alone. You should not exaggerate this of course, nevertheless, your instructor and pilot can intervene within seconds in the control of the jet.
After approx. 30-minute flight time you steer again against your home airport and after a deep flight above the runway you fly the last curve, before you touch down then again. You have accomplished it, and you have flown as one of the first civilians in Europe a fighter jet.
In the park position the jet enginge is switched off, and you will conceive from the ground team. Barely you have the ground again under the feet, you will recieve a special certificate of the airman's relay which proves your successful participation in the jet pilot training.
Now you have experienced the 'Art of Aviation' in the most powerful way!
Then you leave the airport again and sweep one in a hotel of your choice, before you can return the next day again in your native country.
