MIG-31 'Foxhound' VIP jet flight -

Travel to the Edge of Space!

Note: Currently, the MIG-31 at the Sokol Airbase is unavailable. The flights are in the course of restarting  in this year, but about the exact schedule and date we can't tell anything at this time. We are providing since months for know the "Ege of Space Flights" also with the MIG-29 "Fulcrum" to an altitude up to 72.800ft (22.000m). The advantage: You have a better view and the MIG-29 is also much cheaper. Visit our MIG-29 offer.

MIG-31 Foxhound - just a couple of minutes before the take offYou’ve dreamed of it… and we’re here to prove that dreams do come true! Take the flight of a lifetime in our MiG-31 Foxhound VIP jet! Designed for the Russian Air Force in the mid 1970’s, this two-man fighter can reach a top speed of 1.930 mph at ground level, can climb to over 67,000 feet, and has the capability to intercept cruise missiles! There were only 500 built and almost all of them are still in service…and are expected to remain Russia ’s top dog until 2010!

Now, imagine yourself in the co-pilot seat as you roar toward the stars! From our airbase in Nizhniy Novgorod, you will jet over 450 kilometers to Moscow. Your adventure starts as soon as you arrive at the airbase and complete a brief medical examination by our skilled flight surgeon. Next, you’ll meet with our experienced, top-gun Russian test pilot for a briefing to walk you through the details of your flight. You’ll be on the front line, planning your route, confirming weather data, and reviewing flight plan security…down to the last detail.

MIG-31 Take Off Then it’s time to suit-up and take off! Your flight suit, specially designed for high-altitude flight with top-of-the-line Nomex, will keep you safe and comfortable. You’ll be issued a high-quality helmet along with an oxygen mask and your rescue equipment. After running through a function check with all of your equipment, you’ll be transported to the flight hangar where you’ll be introduced to one of the fastest rides you’ll ever drive… The MIG-31 Foxhound!

The time has come to collect your nerve and climb in! The roar of the mighty twin-turbine engine will be hard to hear over the beating of your heart as you taxi out onto the runway. Before you know it, you’ve shot the air strip and you’re propelling 36 metric tons of pure energy skyward, the thundering afterburners rattling your soul! Your pilot is there, so you know you’re safe, as you communicate with him through a headset and with hand-signals. He’ll be more than happy to take you through exciting air maneuvers, including the famous 360 roll, where you’ll get a premium view of the earth and sky rotating around you… in a matter of seconds!

MIG-31 - inside the Cockpit during the flight The afterburners are fired up again to take you to the edge of space, where the sky touches the heavens! You’ll experience g-forces rarely felt by mortal men as the sky grows dark around you and the stars wink at you from what seems like mere inches away. Below, there’s the earth like you’ve never seen her before… you’ve broken through the stratosphere, traveling at MACH 2… the sky is no longer the limit… SPACE IS!! Noise no longer exists, and in the eerie silence you can focus on your pilot explaining to you that you are now at an altitude rarely experienced by anyone, except the crews of spacecraft. You own the world from up here… and you might want to take a few pictures to prove it!!

MIG-31 - A view from above - 22 kmYou’ll spend approximately four to six minutes cruising at the edge before your pilot begins the thrilling decent back towards earth. Then it’s your turn to pilot! When you’ve reached an altitude of about 6,000 meters, your pilot will tell you to take the stick… and you’ll zip through the sky at MACH 1! Not that brave? Then enjoy the flight and the sights until your flight is over, and you land safely on terra firma, home again… but somehow different. Although your adventure is over in an hour, the memories are guaranteed to last you a lifetime! As you greet your ground crew and your family, you can point to the heavens and say, “For a brief moment in time… that was all mine!”
